Health and Disease Assessment in Captive Snakes and Mugger Crocodiles

This book has revealed important features related to health and disease conditions in case of serpentines as well as in mugger or marsh crocodiles(Crocodylus palustris). The parasites affecting commonly noticed snakes and mugger crocodiles were detailed along with pictures. Endoparasitic treatment-trials were revealed in Rat snakes with regard to the usage of ivermectin as well as Fenbendazole. Ectoparasitic treatment-trials were done in Rat snakes using herbal preparations. The microbes as well as antibiotic sensitivity tests carried out were detailed in pythons. The restraining gadgets were designed and applied in poisonous snakes like Russell's vipers and Indian Cobras. Collection of blood samples from mugger crocodiles was detailed by cardiocentesis and/or supra-occipital plexus technique.Further, the management related features pertaining to these reptiles reared under captive conditions were also presented in details.
